Provides Internet service and houses a library with nearly 20,000 books from both Japan and the world, including all sorts of reading material such as newspapers, magazines, travel guidebooks from around the globe, newly released books, language textbooks, and Japanese teaching materials. Using the Internet and watching videos are available free of charge. Galleries for various events are also available for anyone to hire. ■World Health Organization Centre for Health Development (WHO Kobe Centre)
Established to respond to the 21st century world’s health development tasks as WHO’s interdisciplinary research institute. Works on creating a global network based on the development and coordination of international cooperative research and partnership based on the idea that “human health comes from healthy surroundings.” Currently conducting research activity focusing on creating a healthy city.
