About the hours of operation and closed days

What are the hours of operation?

From 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. (Entry until 5:30 pm.)
We are open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on Friday and Saturday during Special Exhibitions. (Entry until 7:30 pm.)

What are the closed days?

Every Monday. If Monday is a public holiday, we are open that day and closed on the next day.
We are also closed during New Year’s holidays and maintenance days.Please contact us for details. For further information, please check the page

What are the admission fees?

Prices differ depending on exhibitions. Please contact us for details.

Can I re-enter after viewing?

Generally we do not allow re-entries.
Please talk to our staff at the entrance if there is a special reason.

8 minute walk south from Hanshin Iwaya Sta.
10 minute walk south from JR Kobe Line Nada Sta. South Exit

How can I go to the museum by bus?

From Sannomiya (Counting all of the following three lines, there are approx. 4 buses every hour depending on the time of day)
<Kobe City Bus>

Bus No. 29 210 yen

Morning: For “Maya Pier, HAT Kobe” 25 minute ride Get on at: Bus stop in front of Sogo, along National Highway 2
*Bus for “Maya Pier” will not stop in front of the museum

Afternoon: For “HAT Kobe, Maya Pier” 10 minute ride
Get on at: Mint Kobe 1F Bus Terminal

* Bus No. 29 may take 30 minutes due to the change in course between morning and afternoon.

For “HAT Wakinohama Daigotottei” 15 minute ride
Get on at: Mint Kobe 1F Bus terminal

<Hanshin Bus>

Direct bus for HAT Kobe 210 yen 10 minute ride

Get on at: Bus terminal on the south of JR Sannomiya Sta., along the police box
(Other side of Sogo Department Store with National Highway 2 in between)

From Oji-koen
<Kobe City Bus>

Bus No. 100 210 yen 10 minute ride

Get on at: Cross Yamatekansen road after exiting Hankyu Oji-koen Sta. West Exit
Buses only come approx. once an hour

How can I go to the museum by car?

Driving from Osaka area
<Public Highway>

Drive west along National Highway 2 or 43. After National Highways 43 and 2 merge, turn left at the first intersection “Iwayanakamachi 4” (a Royal Host is on the corner). The museum is at the end of the road.

<Hanshin Expressway Route 3 Kobe Line>

Turn left after exiting the Maya Ramp, then turn right at the “Maya Ramp South” intersection. You will see the museum on your left hand side at the third traffic light.

<Hanshin Expressway Route 5 Wangan Line>

Drive straight for 2-3 km after passing through the Minami-Ashiyahama Toll Gate. Get off at the Sumiyoshihama exit, drive 1 km on Harbor Highway, then exit to the left at Takaha exit (first exit). Drive along the road and straight through the “Maya Ramp South” intersection. You will see the museum on your left hand side at the third traffic light.

Driving from Sannomiya area
<Public highway>

Drive east on National Highway 2. Drive straight through the Kasuga intersection and turn right at “Iwayanakamachi 4” intersection (3-4 traffic lights after the Kasuga intersection). The museum is at the end of the road.

<Hanshin Expressway>

Turn right after exiting Expressway 3 Maya Ramp, then turn right at “Maya Ramp South” intersection. You will see the museum on your left hand side at third traffic light.

About parking

Is there parking?

We have underground parking. Please enter from the west side.

Fee

400 yen for the first two hours, then 200 yen every 30 minutes after that (Discount process required at the information desk)

About other matters

Is it possible to enter the museum with wheelchairs and baby strollers?

We have elevators and slopes inside the building.
We also offer a wheelchair and stroller lending service. Please apply at the 1F information desk.

Do you have coin lockers?

Yes. (100 yen deposit type)
If larger luggage does not fit in the locker, we can look after it at the information desk at the 1F entrance hall.

Can we bring in pets?

Animals are strictly forbidden from entering the museum.
However, guide dogs and other assistance dogs may enter with their owners.

Is it possible only to use the Art Information Center, Museum Shop, cafe or restaurant?

When and where can I join the “Tomo no Kai” supporter’s group?

Applications can be made from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Art Information Center’s counter. (Times do not change when the museum is open until late.)

Is the museum not a bit too cold?

The temperature/humidity is set for the protection of the art works.
We recommend that you come wearing a flexible outfit as you may find it cold especially during summer.
